Ei Compendex Title Suggestion System

Ei Compendex has launched an automated Title Suggestion System, www.engineeringvillage.com/title-suggestion, which handles the entire title evaluation process, from application to final decision. The new system provides a more robust and efficient service.

Key Benefits:

  • Editors and publishers submitting titles now benefit from detailed information on selection guidelines and criteria and will receive an acknowledgment email on receipt of their completed form.

1. Responsive Search Codes in Expert Search

  • Search Codes are now responsive to databases selected in Expert Search.  Instead of Search Codes populating across all databases, only the Search Codes applicable to your current database selection will appear.

New training tutorial for Thesaurus Search improves search results 

The interactive Thesaurus Search training tutorial can be accessed via the Support menu at the top of the page by clicking Tutorial. First, enter the term you wish to search, then click Submit'to activate Tutorial.

Easily find important engineering information, faster

Locate 'go to' resources quickly with new features in 'My Preferences', that enable you to customize both search and facet settings. Note: You must register and/or log in to take advantage of these free upgrades.

1. Database default (search): Pre-select the database(s) you wish to search, then click 'Save' to set the search setting as your default. It's that simple.

  1. Learn time-saving tips and improve search results from new interactive tutorials. When navigating to both the Expert Search and the Results pages for the first time, a tutorial prompt appears and guides you through using the page. 

2. Download search queries into a summary page. From the search results page, select  <PDF> and tick the checkbox <add search summary> under ‘format’ in the download options

Engineering Village to cease support of Internet Explorer 8 (IE8) on January 1

Engineering Village will no longer support Internet Explorer 8 beginning January 1, 2016, in compliance with Microsoft’s official discontinuation date. For more information please visit Microsoft’s support page.

By removing IE 8 from our support list we will be able to provide the following future enhancements for you:

  • Remove current IE 8 security issues
  • Enhance existing security measures
  • Add support for new browser technologies
