Now available: Create Custom Names for Saved Searches and Alerts

on Fri, 05/13/2016 - 20:33

You can now assign a name to your Saved Searches and Alerts.  By default, Saved Searches and Alerts are assigned a name based on the search query used.  With this new feature, you have the option of replacing the default name with any name you choose up to 32 characters.

Benefits

  • Creating custom names for Alerts and Saved Searches enables you to better organize and track your research.
  • Additionally, researchers and librarians who use project codes to track research time or activity can assign a name based on a project code or description.

Steps:

  1. Create an Alert or Saved Search
  2. On the top menu bar, select Settings, then Alerts & Searches
  3. In the Name column, click EDIT which is located under the search string
  4. Type the new search name and Save
