Customize your Search with your favorite search fields

Engineering Village makes it easier to use favorite fields for future searching. Users can now employ a new option for customized and personal searching. Result: less time and fewer clicks are needed to construct a new search, saving valuable research time. 

What has changed?
The researcher’s most-used or favorite fields can now be saved and used every time the researcher logs in as a registered user.  The user does not need to spend time choosing fields from the drop down list each time a new search session is begun. Searching becomes easier!

Summary: Engineers will no longer be stymied by the many ways numerical data appears in the literature. Faster and easier modifying of searches on Engineering Village

We've recently introduced an important enhancement that makes search refinement faster and more efficient in Engineering Village. Previously, you would revert back to the search page to modifyyour most recent search. Now, a search form on the top of the results page makes search modifications easier.This new search form eliminates the need to take the extra step of clicking the back arrow to the original search form when editing a search.  Additionally, terms and concepts within the search results list can be consulted as you modify your queries.

November marks our 31st consecutive monthly product release for Engineering Village. Please review a few of the highlights:

1. Responsive Search Codes in Expert Search

  • Search Codes are now responsive to databases selected in Expert Search.  Instead of Search Codes populating across all databases, only the Search Codes applicable to your current database selection will appear.

Easily find important engineering information, faster

Locate 'go to' resources quickly with new features in 'My Preferences', that enable you to customize both search and facet settings. Note: You must register and/or log in to take advantage of these free upgrades.

1. Database default (search): Pre-select the database(s) you wish to search, then click 'Save' to set the search setting as your default. It's that simple.

Engineering dissertations now available in Ei Compendex: Access new ideas and improve discovery

Engineering Village is adding engineering dissertations,* supplied by ProQuest to the Ei Compendex database.  Each dissertation is indexed using the Ei Thesaurus.

Ei Compendex is often recognized among researchers as the most precise and comprehensive engineering literature database available within the Engineering Village platform. The addition of engineering dissertations, dating from 2001 onward with an estimation of 6,000 new dissertations added to Ei Compendex annually, means no significant source of relative engineering information will ever be missed during your research.

The Conference Expansion Program is now completed, exceeding its original goal with over 1,000 conference titles, 6,000 conference events and 400,000 conference papers newly covered in Ei Compendex.

GEOBASE and GeoRef results enriched with Citation Counts, Citation Details and Author Profiles from Scopus

Next to Ei Compendex and Inspec, GEOBASE and GeoRef result page has been enriched with Citation Counts, Citation Details and Author Profiles from Scopus.

These new features will help Geoscientists across the globe to understand how research is being used, identify key opinion leaders in specific fields and understand what they are researching.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

The Citation Counts appear in search results near each article that contains one or more citations within the abstract and indexing database Scopus.
